About

The Community Heartbeat Trust (CHT) is the UK’s leading Community Public Access Defibrillator (cPAD) Charity in facilitating the placement of life saving devices.

As a “not for profit” organisation, the CHT charity is focused on providing the best impartial advice and support in assisting communities with the development of their proposed defibrillator project, to bring it to completion and ensure it is fully resilient, sustainable and supported with Governance throughout the lifetime of the installation.

CHT is unlike any other organisation, manufacturer or retailer as the CHT offers a unique, complete and holistic solution to the issues relating to the installation and function of community Defibrillators (including addressing potential liabilities, right equipment, support, Governance and also community training programmes). CHT pride themselves on the fact they were the originators of the concept of the cPAD, and the originator of using redundant telephone kiosks for defibrillator sites.

The Charity has to date placed several thousand full cPAD schemes throughout the UK, working on projects with many local communities as well as other charities, UK Ambulance Trusts, Police Forces, Fire & Rescue services, BT, BCF, Rugby Football Union (RFU), Club Cricket, Midcounties Cooperative, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Lions, Rotary and many more including over 900 Parish, Town and District Councils.

Our passion is community defibrillation, but done right!
